Recommendations to Housing Associations on Adaptations
Ergo OTS Ltd has been working with Housing Associations across the region to provide mostly one-off assessments for tenants with disabilities who require possible adaptations to their home. Included in this service is Knightstone Housing Association which has approximately 11,000 homes in the region.
In some cases after assessment alternative solutions have been recommended e.g. bathing aids instead of an adaptation which can usually be provided quickly and free of charge from local Adult Community Care services.
Where adaptations have been recommended the specification and sometimes plans have been drawn up by Ergo OTS and in liaison with housing officers and contractors implemented quickly and efficiently to the benefit of the tenant(s).
Sometimes adaptations will not suffice for a tenant, in which case a Housing Needs Report is completed by Ergo OTS so housing officers can quickly find suitable properties to offer the tenant(s) and assistance with moving.
Ergo OTS works with Housing Associations to find cost effective and efficient ways of managing their obligations to disabled tenants. This has included assistance with accessing Disabled Facilities Grant funding for the more expensive adaptations.
